What is this all about
Game Connection is helping Ludicious organise their very first M³ Match-Making Module (by Game Connection, powered by Engagement Migros) which takes place on the 21-22nd January 2016 at Ludicious in Zurich.
As part of this Match-Making Module there will be a series of publishing and investment panels as well as presentations by some of the most knowledgeable experts in their domains.
Some of the speakers you will learn from include:
- Ru Weerasuriya (Ready At Dawn Studios)
- Brenda Romero (Romero Games)
- Jeff Hilbert (DDM)
- Ed Valiente (Nintendo)
- Phil Elliott (Square Enix Collective)
- Jana Reinhard (Indie Arena)
- Eline Muijres (Dutch Game Garden)
- Jussi Tähtinen (Nitro Games)
- and many others…..
The panels and ‘pitching session’
On the publishing panel – Matt Dixon, Sales and Business Development Director at Chillingo will be joined by Christian Ammann, Owner at Giants Software (Farming Simulator) where they will present their view of the current publishing and distribution landscape, with a focus on western countries.
On the investment panel – Guillaume Lautour, Managing Partner at Level up will join Daniel Muller, Co Founder of Sunny Side Games and Paul Heydon, Managing Director at Avista Partners.
This panel will focus on the new ways of financing games and will cover equity investment as well as new financing models such as crowdfunding or crowdfinancing.
There will also be a pitching session where pre-selected Swiss projects will pitch a panel of investors (a real-time Dragon’s Den if you will). You’ll be able to sit in the audience, watch them pitch and learn from the feedback and advice that the investment panel will give each pitch.
This alone is an invaluable opportunity if you are looking for investment, as you’ll learn from others’ mistakes and successes. Even if you aren’t looking for investment you’ll be able to transfer what you have learnt to other pitches (such as pitching for publishing or distribution partners).
